Invitation | Spring 2013

Before websites. Before algorithms. Before a name. A chance meeting in the summer of 2012 would turn my client Jennifer’s bat mitzvah invitation dreams into a 160-page fashion magazine called Total Fashion.

Mind you, she wasn’t looking for a pamphlet or brochure. And this was 2013. There were no roadmaps, templates, or how-to guides. Canva? Did it even exist? Barely.

Complete with editorials, styling guides, trend forecasts, beauty notes, interviews, and advertisements. 160 pages later...

A Ticket. An RSVP Card. A Press Release. Style Guides. Beauty Guides. Trend Guides. Models. Hair and Makeup. Backstage Fashion Show Prep. Interviews with Fashion Editors. A Taylor Swift look-alike fitting at Carolina Herrera. Photo shoots. Editorials. Not to mention everything Jennifer did, including selling ads.

You name it, it was done. This was Fashion. It had to be real. And everything was.

As for the bat mitzvah celebration itself? At the newly opened Winspear Opera House in Dallas, my NYC DJ, Jeffrey Tonnesen, flew in for the celebration... which also featured a Jan Strimple-produced fashion show.

Now, back to those glossy pages. Could say, this was Magic. Delivered in print.
